Fees
Our professional counseling fees range from $35 to $105 per hour. You will find that these rates are lower than market rates due to our emphasis on ministry. We strive to never turn anyone away for financial reasons. Here are four ways costs may be reduced on an as-needed basis.
Insurance: We can provide you with the information you need to seek pre-certification or reimbursement for out-of-network expenses if such services are covered under your insurance plan. However, we currently do not bill insurance. To assist you when contacting your insurance company, you may want to refer to our downloadable Questions Related to Insurance Benefits
Churches: Many churches assist their members with counseling costs. We will help you explore this possibility with your church. Presently, over twenty churches in the St. Louis area pay significant portions of their members' counseling fees at Wellspring.
Interns: Greatly discounted rates are offered by advanced graduate students who are pursuing their master's degree in counseling at a local university or seminary. These practitioners are supervised by one of our licensed professional counselors.
Financial assistance (hereafter referred to as "Program Assistance"): Some funds may be available to assist those who qualify. To apply for Program Assistance, you would complete an Application for Program Assistance (available as a downloadable form on this website). The application process normally includes discussing your financial needs with your home church. Wellspring's Business Office staff would then prayerfully review your needs to determine eligibility based upon the Program Assistance Policy and availability of funds. If approved, established Program Assistance formulas will be utilized to determine assistance given. You will be notified regarding your portion of your counseling fees as well as the number of sessions (typically 8-10) for which the program assistance applies.
